Birthday #8
Today is bitter sweet! Brynna just had to say good bye to her Texas family after a week long celebration for her 8th birthday. She was in tears as they drove away!Brynna's party was at Potwin Pottery and she had 7 girls and her boy cousin there all painting away! I think they all had fun!

Its been over a year...
How to sum up what has happened in over a year is impossible. The online posting for me has just gone out of my mind. I think I am using my time else where. One place was inside a new teaching text book. We had to read lots of novels and I know that some of my spare time was spent there. I just finished my 12th year at Landon and 16th year overall. All I can say is that I love what I do. Teaching is so rewarding. Just this week, I ran into two former students. One from my first year and before I was married. He called me Ms. Alderson... ha! The other I have seen from time to time and love dearly. Today she was toting a toddler with her. How is that possible?!?
Brynna will be 8 in a matter of weeks. She acts as if she is closer to thirteen than anything else. She is doing wonderful in school and loves doing math problems. She will be in 3rd grade in the fall. We have our niece Jocelyn here for two weeks for a summer visit. This is the first time to do this and we are off to a great start.
Brian is Brian. Laid back and ready for any challenge. Like when the roof needed to be repaired... he and a friend did most of the work them self ~then hired out the last part. He learns as he does. I hope Brynna gets that gene from him. I would rather just call someone! Brian and Brynna had a wonderful softball season! The Topeka Blaze were 9-3 in league and made tremendous progress in their tournament appearances. I think Brynna is a natural softball player. I hope she really enjoys it. I never played it, but I love watching it. The end of the season for the Blaze was one last game against their BIGGEST competition... their parents! We had so much fun playing against these little spitfires!
Being off for the summer is so nice. I love that I get to take Brynna to any activity that she may desire.... the life of an only child. Maybe she is a little spoiled! ok a LOT spoiled!
